The RSGB Intermediate course is the next step in your amateur radio licence journey and provides you with more privileges and responsibilities.
This course is recognised by the UK licence regulator OFCOM and enables you to gain a unique identifier fondly referred to as a callsign. The main difference between the Foundation Licence and Intermediate Licence is power use alllowance (from 10 – 50 watts)
The course comprises of 10 weekly lessons (followed with an examination) in an informal based environment with experienced amateurs and will cover the following topics:
Transmitters and Receivers
Feeder and Antenna
Practical assessments and Written Exam
Understandably, the course demands are more than the Foundation course by way of soldering, a small build project and more technical content . Therefore more support is available by the club should it be required.
The written exam consists of 45 questions covered by the course syllabus and the pass mark is 27 marks.
The course is held several times per year and the next course will commence on the 7th March 2019.
