extend an invitation for you to visit the club and meet the members etc
whilst awaiting course commencement date.

Dover Amateur Radio Club is situated at St Peter and Paul’s Church in
Dover. We meet each Thursday evening at 18:30 hrs.
Our address is: St Peter and Paul Church Hall, Minnis Lane, Dover, CT17
0RG, There is ample street parking available close to site.
We meet each Thursday evening at 19:00 – 22:00 hrs.
Dover Amateur Radio Club promotes all aspects of amateur radio and
provide Licence training, Morse Training, Skills, Construction and
Lecture nights and hold examination centre status to hold licence
examinations. Tailored support is offered to new members and we provide
excellent information, advice and guidance to any amateur on their
individual learning journey.
The club has a dedicated radio area, toilet and refreshment facilities
and good disabled accessibility.
Just a few points to raise with regards to your training:
1. Training is free and whilst beneficial to candidates is not essential
to sit licence criteria for assessments or examination. That said Dover
Amateur Radio Club urge all candidates to attend so that they can
benefit from the experience of training team.
2. Fees for both Foundation Licence and Intermediate Licence are £45
with appropriate study book supplied: Foundation Licence Now by Alan
Betts ISBN-10: 1872309801 or Intermediate building on the foundation by
The appropriate book for licence is required for the exam.
If you have a current copy of the required book the fee is £40.
3. Payments must be made on or before course commencement date TBC.
The club have a Paypal account for easy online payments but please
remember to send a message of Full Name/Address/DOB/Phone number with
payment or email [email protected] and inform us of paypal payment so we
can marry payments to candidates.

Network radio for Licensed and Unlicensed operators:
The club has a Network Radio net for unlicensed and licensed amateurs
called “DARC They Walk Amongst Us” Aaron and Andy Whybrow are moderators
of this group and it is password controlled. The use of this is made via
a free smartphone app called Zello.
Please email club if password is required. Zello net is held every
evening at 1930hrs.
This allows training candidates to develop their operating skills and
gain mastery of operating procedures.
Licensed only – unlicensed may listen in but not participate:
The Dover radio club has a daily net called @The White Cliffs Net” on
160m 1.845 This morning net is hosted by Keith (G0DUK)
2M net runs alongside this via GB3KS and is also controlled by Pete P
DMR TG9 S2 also hold a regular net.
Simplex 17 is also monitored for club use.
